Questions & Answers

What do chiropractors “treat”?

Chiropractors don’t “treat” any specific disease or condition. We focus on identifying and correcting the “source” of your problem, rather than just eliminating your symptoms. As a result, chiropractic care helps the body heal itself from a wide range of conditions. That is why you can enjoy long-term relief from sciatica, neck pain, back pain, arthritis, headaches, and much more!

Is Chiropractic safe?

Chiropractic care from this office is VERY SAFE. That is because it is being delivered by a licensed practitioner, and risk factors are identified in patients before any type of care is administered. Research shows that patient risk is considerably lower for chiropractic care when compared to medical care, due to the risks associated with prescription drugs and surgery. Positive proof of its safety record is the fact that….medical doctors’ malpractice insurance premiums are, on the average, ten to fourteen times higher than those for chiropractors.

What do spinal joints have to do with my “overall” health?

Your nervous system controls how you move and how you feel. Your spinal nerves pass through your spinal column, which is comprised of twenty four moveable joints. These spinal joints can became misaligned as a result of daily stress, poor posture, improper lifting, a car accident, or even a vigorous sneeze! Spinal misalignments can cause your spinal nerves to become compressed, stretched, or irritated, interrupting nerve flow to cells, organs, and tissues throughout the your body. Without proper nerve transmission your body’s vital systems can malfunction, including your immune system. By removing nerve interference with gentle adjustments, chiropractic allows you to enjoy optimal health without using drugs or surgery.

Are chiropractic adjustments painful?

Most patients report that even when they come into our office with severe pain, spinal adjustments are not painful. Many patients report that they can “feel” the pressure lifting from their spine following an adjustment and often experience immediate relief from pain. Some patients even tell us that they feel a sense of total relaxation after an adjustment.

Will I have to go to a chiropractor forever?

How long would you like to stay healthy, active, and energetic? Depending on your answer, you may benefit from at least a monthly chiropractic visit to keep spine in top condition for many years to come. Just as you must continue to brush, floss, and keep your teeth for a lifetime, taking care of your spine is also a lifelong process of eating right, exercise, proper rest, and regular chiropractic care.

Do chiropractors see any value in drugs or surgery?

As a doctor of chiropractic, I see value in anything that enhances your well-being and comfort, without jeopardizing your health. While chiropractic care offers an effective, drug-free, non-surgical alternative, chiropractors also recognize that no single health care profession can universally attend to every health care need. We work as a team with other health care professionals and will make any referrals in the best interest of the patient.

Testimonials

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "I was not healthy for a 23 year old. I was in constant pain and depression as a result. I was most impressed by the kind and caring staff because I didn't want my healthcare provider looking at me as just another patient."
  • "With maintenance I seem to stay pain free."
  • "I was suffering from just literally aching all over. Previously, I woke every morning to neck pain and that is no longer the case. I have definitely noticed a marked improvement in my overall physical health."
  • "When I started coming to the Chiropractic Health Center, I was taking pain medication to sleep at night, and pain medication to work during the day. I was experiencing headaches at least four out of seven days a week. I cannot believe the improvements I have felt in such a short time. I have more energy than I have had in almost two years. I wish I had come to this office before now."
